A very sad week for me

As most or some of you know I have been very sick and an er dr and I narrowed it down to the fact that I caught a virus from the birds and they needed to be re homed and I did so on Thursday and I am grieving so please understand that this was one of the hardest decisions I had ever had to make . Another note : If you are constantly sick and live in a small home please , have yourself checked . Living in small spaces it is apparently very easy to get sick . I was just told from a friend about a family who is living in a small home and they have several animals and they are constantly sick . I wonder if they make the relation to the animals and their being sick all the time . Before i got sick I was never this sick in my life . I got three different opinions and all the drs agreed that the birds were causing my sickness due to the dander that birds have and their droppings can be a problem as well . I must admit since cleaning my whole house top to bottom and using lysol everywhere I have started to feel better . I encourage all of you who have birds to please be careful when cleaning around them please wear a mask and gloves when cleaning a bird cage . Please dont misunderstand me when I say this but please all of my friends and readers who have birds please be careful . Please understand also that I did what was best for the birds and for me . I cannot be sick for the rest of my life and I dont want to be . I hope all of my readers understand .

The Bird Sisters

Okay Im putting a call out to all my readers and see if anyone of them has a copy of this book titled "The Bird Sisters " By Rebecca Rasmussen . I would be more than glad to pay you for sending this book to me . It is just a book that I would really love to have and cannot find a copy anywhere in this town or the next one over and other book sites want too much for it and I cannot abide paying full price for anything anymore . I think that just creates more landfill problems , you know recycle reuse . I would be more than happy with used if it is still in readable condition . I want to thank all my readers in advance for any help you can give me .

Since Im feeling better

This has been quite the expierience having pneumonia that is . I have sat here and instead of letting my mind turn to mush I have come up with a whole new set of ideas of how to deco my envelopes being the avid letter writer that I am . Yes my husband seems to think that I have taken on the job of keeping the postal system in business single handedly LOL !! No not really just throwing that out there . It seems as though I have scared some of my fellow pen pals , now they read my letter first to make sure Im not in the hospital again . Believe me it was not my choice to be in the hospital it was fate that had their hands in that my dear readers . Believe me when I say I will try to avoid the hospital at all costs again or at least a hospital stay . Now back to what I was talking about . I have come up with some charecters that some of you will see from time to time . Im really thinking that I might just get into illustrations from different ideas that come across my brain from time to time .So those of you whom I write will see them from time to time on my letters and I would appreciate feedback from those if you are so inclined to do so . I will not reveal them until I get some feedback on them and will post a picture on this blog sometime in the future . Well that is all for now dear readers . Take care and stay safe .

posting from a friend

Postcard request
Got this from a friend today:
His school is collecting postcards from around the country and around the world for their diversity/international day in the early spring.
It doesn’t matter if they get multiples from each state, they're just trying to rock the class's world with the amount that Hunter can bring in!
So, if you wouldn’t mind sending a postcard to him, that would be great, I know we have people EVERYWHERE!
Before taking them in to the school Kelly plans to put them all out together and take a picture, she says she’ll be sure to share the picture when they’re done. There is no set deadline, but she's thinking if you can do it between now and the end of November that would be best.

Feel free to share his address with any friends and family you may have in

I just got home from a stay at the hospital

Well I returned home today at around 5 pm from a three day stay at the hospital . Yes you read that right a three day stay . Now Im home and on in home oxygen therapy and I must make a follow up visit at a local clinic to stay on the oxygen . Im also on another round of anti biotics .I also have to go visit another dr but I must say I will have to call the drs office and let them know that I cannot afford them I doubt they will like that but that is the state of affairs in this country when you must pay outta pocket because you cannot afford health insurance even through your work has it offered but you cannot afford it .Im so tired of being sick and the price you have to pay for the illness . Oh well guess I will step down off my soap box now and tell all to have a great day .

This is a weird virus I have and some strange happenings to report

Yesterday I reported that I was ill again and now yet today I feel really well again . I dont understand this thing I have and i will call it a thing for now because Im not a dr . I just play one on tv LOL !!!I also wanted to report on a wildlife reserve here in Zanesville Ohio that I was going to visit a few weeks ago . This wildlife reserves owner was found dead this morning with some wild animals circling him . I have heard in the wild that some animals do this and Im thinking maybe they were trying to protect him . Well the news was stating that some of the animals have gotten loose and they are telling citizens of zanesville ohio to stay in their homes and also to stay out of the woods or if you have woods on your property to stay out of them . On a sad note to this , some of the animals have been shot and killed because of the obvious danger to the citizens that surround this area . On a better note they have actually called in the columbus zoo and they are now taking over capturing the animals . Let us hope that they can help and no more animals will be euthanized .

Im sorry to report that I am not well again as I thought

Oh my gosh will this illness ever end ? I thought I was better and or on the road to recovery but alas I am not . This morning I woke up with a fever and a headache and uber nauseous . I barely have the energy to make it to the mail box . I thought with all these rounds of meds I would surely be on the road to recovery by now but no , not me Im one of those people who have to almost die before we get better . Im just so tired of drs and medicines and coughing that I could just roll over and take a shot in the arse . Im hoping I dont have to go to the hospital , but fearing if it gets bad enough I will go no matter what .If I am behind a letter or two please forgive me and I will catch up providing the grim reaper does not call my name . I hope the rest of my readers are on the road to recovery or already recovered . And if you are the praying sort then I could use a little help in that dept too . Okay well enough for now I m off to the bed again . take care all and have a wonderful rest of your day .

Mary White

Mary Whiteby William Allen WhiteEmporia Gazette, May 17, 1921.The Associated Press reports carrying the news of Mary White's death declared that it came as the result of a fall from a horse. How she would have hooted at that! She never fell from a horse in her life. Horses have fallen on her and with her--"I'm always trying to hold 'em in my lap," she used to say. But she was proud of few things, and one of them was that she could ride anything that had four legs and hair. Her death resulted not from a fall but from a blow on the head which fractured her skull, and the blow came from the limb of an overhanging tree on the parking. The last hour of her life was typical of its happiness. She came home from a day's work at school, topped off by a hard grind with the copy on the High School Annual, and felt that a ride would refresh her. She climbed into her khakis, chattering to her mother about the work she was doing, and hurried to get her horse and be out on the dirt roads for the country air and the radiant green fields of spring. As she rode through the town on an easy gallop, she kept waving at passers-by. She knew everyone in town. For a decade the little figure in the long pigtail and the red hair ribbon has been familiar on the streets of Emporia, and she got in the way of speaking to those who nodded at her. She passed the Kerrs, walking the horse in front of the Normal Library, and waved at them; passed another friend a few hundred feet farther on, and waved at her.The horse was walking, and as she turned into North Merchant Street she took off her cowboy hat, and the horse swung into a lope. She passed the Tripletts and waved her cowboy hat at them, still moving gayly north on Merchant Street. A Gazette carrier passed--a High School boy friend--and she waved at him, but with her bridle hand; the horse veered quickly, plunged into the parking where the low-hanging limb faced her and, while she still looked back waving, the blow came. But she did not fall from the horse; she slipped off, dazed a bit, staggered, and fell in a faint. She never quite recovered consciousness. But she did not fall from the horse, neither was she riding fast. A year or so ago she used to go like the wind. But that habit was broken, and she used the horse to get into the open, to get fresh, hard exercise, and to work off a certain surplus energy that welled up in her and needed a physical outlet. The need has been in her heart for years. It was back of the impulse that kept the dauntless little brown-clad figure on the streets and country roads of the community and built into a strong, muscular body what had been a frail and sickly frame during the first years of her life. But the riding gave her more than a body. It released a gay and hardy soul. She was the happiest thing in the world. And she was happy because she was enlarging her horizon. She came to know all sorts and conditions of men; Charley O'Brien, the traffic cop, was one of her best friends. W. L. Holtz, the Latin teacher, was another. Tom O'Connor, farmer-politician, and the Rev. J. H. Rice, preacher and police judge, and Frank Beach, music master, were her special friends; and all the girls, black and white, above the track and below the track, in Pepville and Stringtown, were among her acquaintances. And she brought home riotous stories of her adventures. She loved to rollick; persiflage was her natural expression at home. Her humor was a continual bubble of joy. She seemed to think in hyperbole and metaphor. She was mischievous without malice, as full of faults as an old shoe. No angel was Mary White, but an easy girl to live with for she never nursed a grouch five minutes in her life. With all her eagerness for the out-of-doors, she loved books. On her table when she left her room were a book by Conrad, one by Galsworthy, "Creative Chemistry" by E. E. Slosson, and a Kipling book. She read Mark Twain, Dickens, and Kipling before she was ten--all of their writings. Wells and Arnold Bennett particularly amused and diverted her. She was entered as a student in Wellesley for 1922; was assistant editor of the High School Annual this year, and in line for election to the editorship next year. She was a member of the executive committee of the High School Y.W.C.A.Within the last two years she had begun to be moved by an ambition to draw. She began as most children do by scribbling in her school books, funny pictures. She bought cartoon magazines and took a course--rather casually, naturally, for she was, after all, a child with no strong purposes--and this year she tasted the first fruits of success by having her pictures accepted by the High School Annual. But the thrill of delight she got when Mr. Ecord, of the Normal Annual, asked her to do the cartooning for that book this spring, was too beautiful for words. She fell to her work with all her enthusiastic heart. Her drawings were accepted, and her pride--always repressed by a lively sense of the ridiculous figure she was cutting--was a really gorgeous thing to see. No successful artist every drank a deeper draft of satisfaction than she took from the little fame her work was getting among her schoolfellows. In her glory, she almost forgot her horse--but never her car.For she used the car as a jitney bus. It was her social life. She never had a "party" in all her nearly seventeen years--wouldn't have one; but she never drove a block in her life that she didn't begin to fill the car with pick-ups! Everybody rode with Mary White--white and black, old and young, rich and poor, men and women. She like nothing better than to fill the car with long- legged High School boys and an occasional girl, and parade the town. She never had a "date," nor went to a dance, except once with her brother Bill, and the "boy proposition" didn't interest her--yet. But young people--great spring-breaking, varnish- cracking, fender-bending, door-sagging carloads of "kids"--gave her great pleasure. Her zests were keen. But the most fun she ever had in her life was acting as chairman of the committee that got up the big turkey dinner for the poor folks at the county home; scores of pies, gallons of slaw, jam, cakes, preserves, oranges, and a wilderness of turkey were loaded into the car and taken to the county home. And, being of a practical turn of mind, she risked her own Christmas dinner to see that the poor folks actually got it all. Not that she was a cynic; she just disliked to tempt folks. While there, she found a blind colored uncle, very old, who could do nothing but make rag rugs, and she rustled up from her school friends rags enough to keep him busy for a season. The last engagement she tried to make was to take the guests at the county home out for a car ride. And the last endeavor of her life was to try to get a rest room for colored girls in the High School. She found one girl reading in the toilet, because there was no better place for a colored girl to loaf, and it inflamed her sense of injustice and she became a nagging harpy to those who she thought could remedy the evil. The poor she always had with her and was glad of it. She hungered and thirsted for righteousness; and was the most impious creature in the world. She joined the church without consulting her parents, not particularly for her soul's good. She never had a thrill of piety in her life, and would have hooted at a "testimony." But even as a little child, she felt the church was an agency for helping people to more of life's abundance, and she wanted to help. She never wanted help for herself. Clothes meant little to her. It was a fight to get a new rig on her; but eventually a harder fight to get it off. She never wore a jewel and had no ring but her High School class ring and never asked for anything but a wrist watch. She refused to have her hair up, though she was nearly seventeen. "Mother," she protested," you don't know how much I get by with, in my braided pigtails, that I could not with my hair up." Above every other passion of her life was her passion not to grow up, to be a child. The tomboy in her, which was big, seemed loath to be put away forever in skirts. She was a Peter Pan who refused to grow up.Her funeral yesterday at the Congregational Church was as she would have wished it; no singing, no flowers except the big bunch of red roses from her brother Bill's Harvard classmen--heavens, how proud that would have made her!--and the red roses from the Gazette forces, in vases, at her head and feet. A short prayer: Paul's beautiful essay on "Love" from the Thirteenth Chapter of First Corinthians; some remarks about her democratic spirit by her friend, John H. J. Rice, pastor and police judge, which she would have deprecated if she could; a prayer sent down for her by her friend Carl Nau; and, opening the service, the slow, poignant movement from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, which she loved; and closing the service a cutting from the joyously melancholy first movement of Tchaikovsky's Pathetic Symphony, which she liked to hear, in certain moods, on the phonograph, then the Lord's Prayer by her friends in High School. That was all.For her pallbearers only her friends were chosen: her Latin teacher, W. L. Holtz; her High School principal, Rice Brown; her doctor, Frank Foncannon; her friend, W. W. Finney; her pal at the Gazette office, Walter Hughes; and her brother Bill. It would have made her smile to know that her friend, Charley O'Brien, the traffic cop had been transferred from Sixth and Commercial to the corner near the church to direct her friends who came to bid her good-by.A rift in the clouds in a gray day threw a shaft of sunlight upon her coffin as her nervous, energetic little body sank to its last sleep. But the soul of her, the

A Movie about Mary White

Then I found the movie of Mary White
The true story of the relationship between famed author William Allen White and his teenaged daughter Mary, who died in a horseback-riding accident at age 16, and the powerful effect the tragedy had on the life of her father.
Director: Jud Taylor
Writers: William Allen White (writings), Caryl Ledner
Stars:Ed Flanders, Fionnula Flanagan and Tim Matheson

I remember seeing this movie sometime when I was a teenager (a long time ago LOL !!!) and I remembered I stoped riding for a while and then I got back on and rode again . This movie and this girls life effected me , apparently I was not the only one i saw some reviews of the movie .

In Remembrance

In a few days our country will have its 10th anniversary of one of the worst attacks on this countrys soil to date . As some of you may know that my cousin was a New York City firefighter and also my brother . It is hard to think that it is now ten yrs later and we must always remember and never forget this horrible tragedy . I remind you my dear readers that we lost 125 People at the Pentagon, The World Trade Center 2,824 people , In a field in southeastern Pensylvania 42 lives lost . How scared all of these people must have been . I can still see those poor people who felt there was no other option but to throw themselves out of the towers . I myself folks was sitting at a desk where I worked and a co worker ran through to us and told us omg !! a plane just flew into the world trade center in New York !! we thought it was fluke or just an accident , then we heard about the Pentagon , and then the field in PA where a group of strangers became heroes and decided to fight back and take the plane down rather than let it kill other people . I for one hope that the relatives of those strangers are so very proud of them as I am my cousin and brother . My Uncle will go this anniversary and see his son's name and his nephews name . I for one am proud that my brothers name and cousins name will be there forever carved into a memorial and rightly so as all the other heroes of that day . This is how I will remember those brave souls . How will you remember ?

Finally found one

Well I finally found a paris blogger background . It is on my blog now as I am typing this . I so wish that I could make another trip to Paris . I feel like it was ages ago when I went , guess what it has been ages LOL !!! I know corny . Please forgive me as I could not resist being a clown for a little bit . I loved the paris card that my dear charlie brown sent me and I glued it together and made it into a wall hanging . I love when my dear charlie brown sends me little goodies in the ever so popular small envie or the ever so tiny box . I have tried to make my letters a little more brighter lately by drawing and coloring in their little face and such etc ... I hope my dear pen pals will enjoy them so much . One can only hope can we not ? if you enjoy this background then you will be able to find it at shabby blogs .com . I really like most of their backgrounds . Oh well I will stop with the shameless plugs LOL !!! I am so glad I have heard from everyone after the hurricane and earthquake and happy to say that all is well . Take care everyone .

Never buy anything Bissell makes !!!!

I am here telling all my readers and followers to never buy anything Bissell makes because they are liars and have decietful and false business practices and anything they make only will last you 6 months if you are lucky !!! I have been round and round with them and calling and calling anyone who will listen to me . I filed a complaint with the bbb of grand rapids michigan and Bissell's response was to send me 3 12.99 coupons which I will not use because , I my dear readers refuse to put another dime in Bissell's pocket . Years ago a companys name meant everything and now they just dont care !!! I made the response simple , I just want my money back . I dont want your coupons or a refurbished machine , No I want my money back . Take the coupons and shove them where the sun does not shine . I also want a written apology for your company putting out such junk on the market to swindle the consumer . I know that I wont get any of these things . But I am truly considering a class action lawsuit against Bissell . and as you can see my friends this will not be the first class action lawsuit that Bissell has had brought against it. No No , by doing some deep seeded research I have found another case where Bissell was brought to court and proved to be the liars they are . It seems as though a Miss Mandi Green of Southern Alabama took Bissell to court in the U.S. District Court in the great state of Alabama . It seems they claimed that their steam mops produced steam which was found to be false . So if any of my dear readers and followers have something Bissell that does not work or stop working and they never made good on their warranty then please get in touch with me . Team work and the internet are wonderful things and so is some good old fashioned research . Believe me folks when I say Im not stopping here , I will bad mouth bissell every chance I get and I will write scathing reviews . You see Bissell now you have made an enemy of me instead of a friend and that is a really bad thing . I could have been a really good ally but no, you chose to make me an enemy . Well my dear readers I will leave it at that .

I enjoy kick back days every once and a while

well I was enjoying a kick back day and having fun taking pictures of the feathered kids . These pictures feature Alex , Martin (blue ) and Arnold sitting next to Martin on top of their cage . These guys are a hoot and fill my day with fun . Yes I was just talking the other day about how Alex was biting well I think I have cured that because I have not had a nip in a few days . Which I am begging to last if not then we start the retraining all over again . If my dear Limner is reading , I hope you are feeling much better my dear and as well as Simon and the Husband .

Take care all and stay cool as Im sure most of us are having a heat wave .

Is this the week for being bitten ?

Well I will tell you this must have been the week for bites because I just read where my good friend the Limner has said that her cat is sick and please pray for him because he just had surgery . He is home but still sick . She said that he had bitten her while she touched him with his wound . Well yesterday while messing with Alex (my new quaker ) he delivered three bites to my left hand and my right hand and my arm . Yesterday they looked nasty today they look better . I would show you pics but Im too lazy to take pics of it . Anyways he was in a foul mood and I must have pushed the issue and he is not happy today either and has been in his cage for most of the day which means Im not happy with you and you are going to be punished in bird language . So I had other things to do today and he got left alone for most of the day . My other two quakers are perfectly fine being left alone by me cause they have each other . I guess whenever Alex gets over his temper tantrum and fit or whatever you call it he will be more receptive to me , we shall see . I have had such a week and now I find out my carpet steam cleaner is dead and they will not give me my money back on that ...I will tell you more in my next blog about that ......

still battleing the bronchitis

Well as some of you know I have been battle-ing the bronchitis and it is still not any better with a whole round of anti biotics and still no improvement . So wednesday I head back to the doctor because I am assuming that I wont be any better and that I have some kind of super bronchitis that will not give up unless it has another round of anti biotics . So everyone please do everyone else a favor and teach your kids to cover their mouths with tissues when they cough especially if they have bronchitis and yes belive it or not bronchitis is air borne and when the affected person coughs or sneezes the germs are put into the air and all you have to do is breathe to become infected . So let us all wash our hands and stay home when anyone is sick . I have become a mad woman while washing my hands . So everyone , please pray for me if you are the praying sort if not then send out good wishes and here s to hoping that the next round of antibiotics does the trick .

Things usually turn out for the best

Well as some of you might or might not know I was planning on getting a cockatoo that needed a home . That however did not work out as such his owner turned out to be somewhat of a "off " person shall we say . She took offense to an email I had sent her wanting to know when the bird would be arriving and I was telling her about someone else who had wanted a certain amount of money from me and how I did not think that was fair . Well she proceeded to call me up and demand that I let her finish her rant and she was fairly nasty about it . And it is like my husband said "I wonder if she even had the bird to begin with " . What really tipped me off in the background was that I never heard the bird which she claimed to be really loud and from what others have told me that was a pretty good sign that she did not have the bird . Well this woman proceeded to tell me that I had ulterior motives for wanting the bird . Well I was not going to banty words with this woman so when she finished I ended the call with a wow , okay bye bye and hung up . Well a few mins afterwards I was looking at the website that I fairly go to and some lady was looking for a home for her quaker saying that they are army and they go from place to place alot and not fair to this bird . So she and I talked and I picked him up on saturday from the airport and he talks and he is in my home and which is now his home . so the motto to this story is things really do turn out for the best in many sittuations .

The end of our space shuttle program

I just watched the space shuttle go up and it will most likely be the last one I will see . I think it is a travesity and an injustice to the memory of our late presiden John F. Kennedy . He was the one that said by 1969 we will have a man on the moon and we did . But alas today marks the last of the space shuttle take offs and for me an end of a dynasty . What a shame it will be for our grandchildren to never see a space shuttle go into space . I think space is a frontier that we have only begun to discover and should do more to explore it . I think our government is giving up on space exploration and that is sad indeed . We used to be one of the richest countrys in the world and look now we are the laughing stock of the world . Now I heard this morning that most schools in Illnois are ending penmanship classes . Well my goodness what will happen to these children when they go to get their drivers license they wont be able to sign their name in cursive . Of course kids want things that are easier , but I think ending cursive writing is stupid to say the least . Your signature is one of ones identifying factors and yet the illnois school system chooses to take that away . Disgraceful if you ask me ... Just my humble opinion of course .

I have heard alot of mess when going through airports but really ? Really ?

When will we as type 1 diabetics be able to go through an airport without a problem ? I have heard alot about t1s having problems at airports lately . I guess in retrospect this makes me awfully glad I dont wear a pump but feel for t1s that do and I cannot understand why the TSA would question a medical device ? I have to carry syringes since I dont use a pump and am constantly asked when traveling why I have syringes . I also have a very bright medical alert bracelet clearly stating that I am an insulin dependant diabetic . So from my understanding the TSA is not training their people correctly in recognizing medical devices , clearly stated medical alert bracelets and drs notes , have I got that down now ? Is that correct that the TSA does not train their people to notice or recognize these things ? I also think that we as T1 diabetics should sit down with some TSA agents and the head of the TSA on the Dr. Phil show and educate these people as to how we want to be treated and how we should be treated at all airports , with respect and dignity that you seem to show everyone else but people with medical devices , syringes and insulin !!! I think the TSA need to learn some respect for people with medical conditions . What say the rest of you ? Shout it out and let me know what you think .

Sad News

It's sad news . So ,so sad . Please join the crew of the Good Ship Sonshine in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community .
The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly.
He was 71.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.
Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects including Mrs. Butterworth , Hungry Jack , the California raisins , Betty Crocker , The Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch.
Other notables included Snap , Crackle , and Pop, the Keebler Elves , Tony the Tiger, Fruity Pebbles , the Trix rabbit along with the street gang of Long John Silver, Ronald McDonald , Wendy, Jack and the gang leader Colonel Sanders .
The gravesite was piled high with flours .
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described DoughBoy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded .
DoughBoy rose quickly in show business , but his later life was filled with turnovers .
He was not considered a very smart cookie , waisting much of his dough on half baked schemes .
Despite being a little flaky at times , he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions .
DoughBoy is survived by his wife PlayDough , three children , JohnDough , JaneDough and DossyDough ,plus they had one in the oven .
He is also survived by his elderly father , Pop Tart .
The funeral was at 3:50 for 20 minutes . If this made you smile for even the briefest of moments , please rise to the occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who may be having a crumby day and kneads a little lift.

1. Heat the olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat and cook the eggplant cubes for 3 minutes.
2. Add the garlic and salt and continue to sauté for another 2 minutes.
3. Add 1 tbsp of water, cover and cook for an additional 3 minutes or until eggplant is fork tender. Allow to cool.
4. Place the eggplant and remaining ingredients in a food processor and puree until smooth.
5. Use about 2 tbsps of the eggplant mixture for mini burgers, 1/4 cup for bigger burgers and form into patties.
6. Heat about 1-2 tsps of oil in a large sauté pan and cook the eggplant patties for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
7. Serve. * To freeze place the cooked patties on a baking sheet, freeze for 1 hour and place in a Ziploc bag, label and freeze up to 3-4 months. When ready to serve, place patties on a baking sheet in a 300 degree oven for 10 minutes until warm.

I thought this would be a great vegetarian burger for an alternative to ground beef or turkey .

wow has anyone else's mail been slow this week ?

I think my mail has been awfully slow this week , could it be the fires out there in arizona effecting the mail delivery ? maybe cause they were saying on the news this morning about how it could possibly affect things as far away as texas . Boy I sure hope not because I have quite a few friends in Texas and know that it has been having a drought beyond belief . I know we in Ohio almost hit 100 degrees yesterday , now I have been told that is rare . Of course the humidity here in Ohio is nothing compared to what I have lived with in Florida . 98 here I can breathe, in florida I could not . Anyways Im thinking those fires in Arizona are effecting the mail and has anyone else noticed how bad the weather has been all over the country ? I think we are starting to feel the effects of global warming and how we as man have been messing with the eco system . OOPS ! im starting on my conspiracy theory as my husband calls it . LOL !!!
Anyways I will leave my readers with a delish dinner recipe and a quote .

Another one to ponder on , enjoy

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a w......oman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years. ~" — Audrey Hepburn

I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it." — Audrey Hepburn

Paris is always a good idea." — Audrey Hepburn

"Let us learn to show our friendship for a man when he is alive and not after he is dead." — F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby)

Here are some things to think on , enjoy

A mature person is one who does not think only in absolutes, who is able to be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that there is both good and bad in all people and in all things, and who walks humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life, knowing that in this world no one is all knowing and therefore all of us need both love and charity." — Eleanor Roosevelt

You gain strength , courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop
to look fear in the face . You must do the thing which you think you cannot do .
Eleanor Roosevelt .

"I want to grow old without facelifts. I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I have made." — Marilyn Monroe

This is why I cant ever seem to get things done on time

This is usually why I cannot get anything done because I usually have a bird or a dog on me , near me or around me or someone is fussing because they dont like the way things are . Or they are throwing their food everywhere and I cannot stand dirt being the clean freak that I am and will get up and clean and I honestly think that sometimes animals have a conspiracy going to make me nuts and or crazy . What do you readers think ? , do our animals know when we are busy trying to think or do something and then they put their two cents in ? what say you readers ?

taking the dogs on a stroll

Took the dogs for a stroll and one as you can see was talking to me and letting me know that she was rather happy about going to take a grass jaunt and then onto pet smart . They love petsmart because they like meeting new ppl and dogs . This morning we met a rather nice lady who worked for blue diamond dog food and was rather shocked when I told her that neither one of my dogs can digest dog food and believe me when I say we have tried every brand available . She asked me if that was because of their breed and I told her I dont know but some chihuahuas are diabetic . My male the brown one has low blood sugar problems so naturally that does not make living with him any easier . However these dogs eat brown rice and boiled chicken which must be rather good for them because you can see they are the picture of health .We also saw a rather friendly cat up for adoption and he was adorable and if I had not had the birds , I would have been tempted . Oh well my readers have a wonderful day and take care .

My creative side has come back

A while ago I got to thinking since I really adore some of the cards that people send me why not make them pictures by gluing and placing some tiny brads in strategic places and adding some ribbon I could turn these little gems into maybe some wall hangings . I have quite a few of them and I wanted to share my latest creation with my readers . So leave a comment and tell me what you think . Im really interested to hear what others think . So take care all and have a fantabulous day .

Am I doomed to see grey clouds and rain forever ?

It just seems like it has rained forever here . I have been enjoying thinking of things to do inside while the weather has been so bad and the only thing is how bad this weather makes my joints hurt LOL !!Of course some will say that is because I am getting old I dont think so . I am trying to develop some new ideas for mail art and sometimes that is really hard . So I will be working on mail art the next few days and hope to come up with some new themes . Have a great day all .

Well now we are going to go from 80 degree weather to 50 degrees for a high in a few days . I know someone who lives in the mtns in tennesee and she said there was still snow on the mtn tops in April . Well I think mother nature is a tease sometimes and she let us see just a pinch of summer and now here she goes messing with us again and giving us 50 degree weather . Yahoo , maybe we should get out the sleds and skis too ? Nah I hope Im kidding . Just about the sleds and the skis cause I know it will be 50 for a high tommorow .

The Other two loves of my life

These are the other two loves of my life . The green one is Arnold the one Im always talking about and the blue one Is Martin .Arnold is five and Martin is two and they are both so smart that it scares me . It seems they know what Im going to do before I do . This morning and most mornings they get to eat with me , which means scrambled eggs which they love and some times potatoes but not often with the potatoes and maybe a bit or two of toast which they love . as you maybe can tell the second pic martin loves the camera and arnold does not and frequently turns away from it . I also have discovered that they quite like each other despite both birds being male . Im so glad they get along and no fights have broken out .. nothing like having a fellow feathered friend I suppose in the bird world .

I love how their colors come out on film .

Things are back to normal here thank the good lord above

Thank goodness things are starting to get back to normal . I have things hung up in the new place and finally got my mail box keys and the animals are settling down . Change seems to readily upset them . The moving concept to them is strange I guess . I love it cause now the dogs are starting to know that this is home and they bark when they hear someone or something which is a good thing . I also got my first letter which was a treat for me cause I have missed writing letters and receiving them and got the first one outta the box today and hope to get more in the coming days . Woo hoo Kendra finally got booted off of dancing with the stars yep glad about that one . It truly has been a day where the moon and the stars have co-ordinated in the universe and that is truly great !!! :)

Okay It is official I hate mail box keys and community mailboxes

I hate mail box keys and community mail boxes . I moved over the wknd and not only do we not have a mail box key yet we dont even know what mail box is ours . I think I may have to wait a wk for a key and it will drive me crazy and then I will be pissed at our mail system because to me that is just lazy to not even have a new tennant a mail box key already made and waiting for them ? But you can believe they did have their hand out for our money for the rent and other fees . I think if it does take a week I will march my butt down to the post office and give them a good piece of my mind . I am also pissed at Uhaul for delaying our move by three hours and giving us the run around about where our moving truck was ? Three places we were sent to looking for our truck and oh by the way my readers a reservation means nothing with Uhaul . Please boycott Uhaul and use penske . I am btw sending a wonderfully mean opinion letter to the president and ceo of Uhaul which Im sure will really tick someone off I sure hope it will anyways !!! Okay this move was a disaster , I wanted a new apt in a nicer complex and I did manage to get it and now I have located a washer and dryer thank god but wont be able to obtain it until the end of may or the end of june which ever comes first . You can see I have had a really stinky wknd and its official I hate moving and I hate not having keys to things I need !!!!

I have so neglected this blog for so long

You all will have to excuse me I have neglected this blog for so long . Yuck i just looked at it and eeek . well I dont think old man winter is ever going to go away . It is still cold outside baby and I hate it . Well today I will be receiving my newest addition a baby blue quaker that is right another bird . My arnold is still well and good and probably wont be so tickled at the thought but I am hoping this will work . I was supposed to get an indian ring neck but the lady decided to keep him and im kind of sad about that . But anyway it is what it is . I have decided that eventually we will buy a house sooner or later maybe a mobile home in a nice little park somewhere . At least three bedrooms so I can have a bird room . Boy you know the last three years have been so hard on me and my husband . So many trials and so many tribulations . I just hope there was and is a reason for the trials and tribulations . I guess sometimes God can really make you see what you have instead of what you want . I think so many people fail to see that . Oh well I will post pics later on guys take care .
